About the role:
Join a major resources operator as a Senior Project Manager, delivering critical Technology and Business-sponsored technology projects across operations in South Australia. Reporting to the Lead Delivery within the Technology Delivery team, this role is responsible for driving projects through the full lifecycle, managing stakeholders, and ensuring outcomes are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with established project delivery frameworks.
- Role is based in Adelaide + adhoc site travel for projects
- 6 Month Contract upfront, to extend based on performance
- Negotiable daily/hourly rates
What you’ll be doing:
- Engage and collaborate with project stakeholders including sponsors, business owners, end users, service owners, support teams, technical SMEs and the project team
- Lead the definition of new initiatives through high-level assessment of scope, investment options, business value, timing and cost
- Develop project objectives, requirements and scope
- Lead projects through the full project lifecycle with fit-for-purpose delivery strategies
- Manage scope, time, cost and all project activities through each phase
- Lead and manage health and safety culture, performance and reporting
- Lead stage-gate and funding approvals
- Assign and manage internal and external project resources, including vendor engagements
- Lead procurement activities and contract management for goods and services
- Manage or lead (where a Change Lead is not assigned) change management and communications activities
- Lead technical change processes including change and release, management of change, and operational readiness/transition to support
- Manage project risks and issues
- Lead delivery and project team work practices tailored to project needs
- Lead governance activities including working groups, status reporting, monthly financial updates and portfolio status updates
Deliverables:
You will be responsible for producing and managing all project deliverables in line with the organisation’s project delivery framework, tailored to the size and complexity of each initiative. This includes:
- Managing the production of all project, technical and change management deliverables
- Producing and maintaining key project documents including project management plan, schedule, cost model, risk and issues register, task boards, status reports, stakeholder updates etc.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Full Australian working rights - this position offers no form of Visa sponsorship or relocation assistance
- Project management background in operational technology systems and/or technology infrastructure systems
- Mining and/or industrial project experience, with underground familiarity preferred
- Project Management certification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP)
- Relevant tertiary qualification
Additional requirements:
- Regular travel to South Australia operations is required to engage with stakeholders and manage delivery activities
- Ability to obtain a police clearance for site access
