Multiple roles available with a leading Australian iron ore producer and green energy innovator.
About the role:
Joining the Process Control Systems Project Team, you’ll be providing centralised engineering support to the existing Port, Rail & Minesite operational assets, NPI, new Greenfields projects & infrastructure and decarbonisation & energy projects.
- 12 month initial contract, possibility of extensions based on performance
- Perth CBD office
- Monday – Friday, 45hrs/week
- Up to $105/hr + super ($250k+ annual package)
What you’ll be doing:
- Design and deliver process control systems for mine site and fixed plant operations, power, NPI, water and new development projects
- Design review and validation of various engineering designs and associated components
- Develop technical specifications to meet project specific objectives
- Create project documentation / technical writings - Standard Specifications, Functional Descriptions and Scope of Works
- Manage control system integrators
- Audit existing control system hardware and software versions and recommend upgrades
- Develop hardware and software standards and design for the technical solutions implemented
- Deploy and commission automation technology to various operational and future projects
- Hands on programming of PLC and SCADA systems
What you’ll need to be successful in this role:
Essential:
- Bachelor of Electrical, Electronics, Control Systems or Mechatronics Engineering
- HMI & SCADA design and development experience
- SCADA programming experience - Ignition, Cimplicity, WinCC etc.
- GE/Emerson, Siemens PLC Programming experience
- Industrial Comms Protocols experience - MQTT, PROFINET, Profibus, Modbus, Ethernet etc.
- System controller and programming language experience - Structured Text, Function Block, Ladder, C#, VB etc.
- Experience with operation of inverters, chargers and VSDs
- Experience with Functional Safety principle and familiar with Functional Safety standard and compliance
- Experience with control system design, development, and commissioning phases
- Ability to lead instrumentation and process control system audits, and develop associated action plans
- HME/Automotive experience highly advantageous
- Experience working on power and renewable energy projects highly advantageous
- Miri mapping and coding highly advantageous
- Experience in designing high voltage DC power systems with experience in electrical noise filtration is advantageous
