An opportunity exists for an experienced Project Manager to lead a critical electrification program within a major mining operation. This role will focus on delivering large-scale NPI electrical infrastructure projects aligned with decarbonisation targets, specifically the transition from diesel generation to fixed renewable-powered electrical systems.
You will be responsible for managing end-to-end project delivery across multiple assets, ensuring each transition is planned, scoped, and executed with minimal disruption to ongoing mining operations. This is a highly detail-oriented role requiring strong technical understanding and the ability to coordinate across engineering, operations, and delivery teams.
- 12-month contract based in Perth CBD with ad hoc site travel
- $80–$110/hr + super (depending on experience) – rough $266k annual package based on 48 working weeks
- 5:2 roster, Monday to Friday – 9 hour days, 1 day WFH a week
- Lead a flagship decarbonisation and electrification project
- Work across complex, large-scale mining infrastructure environments
- Joining at conceptual design phase, estimated 3-4 years left on project
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead the delivery of electrical NPI infrastructure projects across mining assets
- Manage the transition from diesel gensets to fixed electrical infrastructure powered by renewable energy sources
- Develop detailed scopes of work for each asset requiring electrification
- Coordinate project execution from planning through to delivery and commissioning
- Ensure all works are scheduled in line with operational requirements to minimise downtime
- Oversee contractors and ensure compliance with project, safety, and quality standards
- Apply fit-for-purpose engineering solutions across varied asset requirements
- Manage stakeholder engagement across operations, engineering, and leadership teams
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines, ensuring successful delivery outcomes
- Drive continuous improvement and standardisation across installations for repeatability
What you’ll need to be successful in the role:
- Minimum 8+ years’ experience in mining projects, with at least 3+ years in NPI and high voltage environments
- Strong experience delivering electrical infrastructure projects within mining operations
- Experience delivering major projects across dewatering, NPI, power and/or utilities
- Proven understanding of 33kV infrastructure and substation installations (6.6kV to 415V)
- Solid knowledge of protection schemes and mobile mining assets
- Ability to develop scopes of work and manage projects through full lifecycle delivery
- Strong attention to detail with a practical, solutions-focused mindset
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams, contractors, and stakeholders
- Background as an Electrical Trades professional with progression into project management (highly regarded)
- Experience in underground mining environments (advantageous)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
