Join a leading global resources and green energy company with a large-scale autonomous mining operation, investing heavily in in-house autonomy engineering.
You will lead the developers building, extending and integrating software, onboard safety features and hardware-integrated systems for an Autonomous Haulage System (AHS). This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You will own how internal and vendor/OEM components come together into one safe, robust and scalable product.
- 12 month contract + extensions based on performance
- Monday to Friday, 40 hour per week
- Perth CBD location + WFH
- Leading and mentoring developers delivering integration-focused features
- Setting engineering direction for development and integration activity
- Owning the technical approach for incorporating vendor and OEM deliverables into the AHS platform and product suite
- Resolving complex integration issues across software, onboard systems and hardware interfaces
- Leading development of new onboard safety-related and hardware-integrated systems, including guiding engineering decisions related to sensors, compute, communications and vehicle interfaces
- Driving the use and evolution of SIL and HIL environments to mature designs, reduce risk before verification and field deployment
- Defining engineering readiness criteria and ensuring features are integration-ready before handover to Verification

- 10+ years in complex engineering environments
- Strong background in software engineering, systems integration or hardware-integrated development
- Proven experience leading development teams delivering safety-critical or mission-critical systems
- Hands-on experience with SIL, HIL or simulation environments for engineering development
- Experience with onboard systems, sensors, compute platforms or vehicle-integrated hardware
- Familiarity with ISO 61508 aligned development environments
- 12 month contract at $110/hr + super
- Contract extensions based on performance
- Technical leadership on a live autonomy platform at scale
- Direct influence over architecture, integration approach and engineering practice
