An opportunity exists for experienced P25 Field & Operations Engineers to join a highly respected global organisation delivering critical communications support to Government, Emergency Services, and Enterprise environments. This role will see you working across both field-based communications centres and core operational environments, supporting essential infrastructure including radio networks, dispatch consoles, and control centre systems.
- 12-month contract role based in Silverwater, NSW
- $670/day incl. super (roughly $161k annual package)
- Work across field locations from Wollongong to Newcastle to Western Sydney / the Hills District
- Opportunity to work on critical emergency services communications systems
- Exposure to both field engineering and operational network environments
What you’ll be doing:
- Provide support and maintenance of P25 radio communications systems and associated infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across field consoles, control centre systems, and network environments
- Support emergency services control centre equipment and ensure high system availability
- Manage and resolve operational incidents, including escalation and customer communication
- Conduct system testing, fault finding, and performance analysis using RF and digital test equipment
- Work closely with NOCC, Service Delivery Managers, and Engineering teams to resolve service issues
- Participate in service reviews, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support special operations, system upgrades, and transition activities
- Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with contractual service requirements
- Participate in on-call roster and provide after-hours support when required
What you’ll need to be successful in the role:
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency (required for baseline clearance)
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in radio communications or field service environments
- Experience with APCO P25, TETRA, or DMR radio systems (trunked and conventional)
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows systems, networking, and field-based equipment
- Understanding of RF principles, antenna systems, and digital communications testing
- Experience supporting control room / dispatch console environments (highly regarded)
- ACMA Open Cabler Licence
- Strong customer-facing communication skills and ability to manage stakeholders
- Ability to work autonomously and within cross-functional teams
- Willingness to travel and work across multiple sites
