About the role:
This role sits within an operational engineering function responsible for the stability, performance and continuous improvement of business‑critical systems. While the position spans systems and infrastructure, strong networking capability is the key requirement.
You’ll work closely with operations and engineering teams, acting as a technical escalation point and contributing to design, support and optimisation activities.
What you’ll be doing each day:
- Supporting and maintaining enterprise‑scale network and server infrastructure
- Acting as an escalation point for network and systems issues
- Day‑to‑day administration of Windows Server environments
- Hands‑on configuration, troubleshooting and support of switching and core network services
- Contributing to network and systems design activities
- Supporting change, upgrade and maintenance activities, including after‑hours work as required
- Maintaining clear operational documentation and following established support processes
What you’ll need to be successful in this role:
You take ownership of issues, communicate clearly, and enjoy solving complex problems. You will bring:
- Strong networking experience, with Cisco and Juniper switching at an intermediate level or higher
- Technical knowledge and experience with implementation and/or support of RF and multi-site communications systems
- Solid experience with administration configuration, fault finding and maintenance of networks, LAN, WAN, routers, switches, servers, workstations and applications
- Network or infrastructure design, planning and analysis experience
- Industry certifications (CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP etc.)
- Familiarity with F5 load balancers
- Exposure to Palo Alto firewalls
