The infrastructure includes enterprise LAN/WAN, voice, wireless and firewall platforms supporting critical operational, teaching and research systems. Strong troubleshooting capability, proactive capacity planning and a security-first mindset are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance enterprise-wide network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/Voice/WLAN)
- Diagnose and resolve complex network incidents, including advanced vendor escalation
- Ensure high availability and optimal performance of core ICT services
- Plan and implement service continuity and resilience strategies
- Lead capacity planning and network performance tuning initiatives
- Protect infrastructure integrity through access control and proactive security management
- Monitor global ICT security developments and implement best-practice remediation
- Define and document network standards, protocols and implementation frameworks
- Contribute to automation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Relevant degree or equivalent industry experience
- Strong hands-on expertise managing Cisco IOS-based enterprise networks
- Proven experience supporting large-scale production environments
- Demonstrated capability across:
- Switching & Routing
- DNS & DHCP
- Firewall technologies
- Voice and Wireless networking
- Cloud networking and hybrid connectivity exposure
- Cisco DNA Centre
- Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
- Cisco and/or Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls
- Strong Wi-Fi design and optimisation expertise
- Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or specialist Security/Wireless/Voice qualifications
