The City of Joondalup is one of Western Australia's largest and most progressive local governments, supporting a vibrant and growing community through a strong focus on service excellence, innovation and operational sustainability.

As part of its continued investment in digital capability and organisational resilience, the City is seeking an experienced Manager Information Technology to lead its IT function and play a key role in shaping how technology enables services across the organisation.

This is a leadership opportunity offering genuine influence, scale and impact, suited to an experienced technology leader who enjoys working in a complex, community-focused environment.

About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the Manager Information Technology is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the City's IT function.
In this role, you will lead the development and delivery of the City's technology strategy, ensuring systems, platforms and services support efficient operations, strong governance, cybersecurity resilience and long-term organisational capability. You will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team and senior stakeholders to ensure technology investment aligns with corporate priorities and delivers meaningful outcomes for the community.
You will also provide leadership across service delivery, financial management, vendor engagement and major technology initiatives, while fostering a high-performing, accountable and engaged IT team.

About You
You are an experienced  technology leader with experience operating in complex, service-driven organisations. You bring a balanced approach to strategy and delivery, with the ability to think long-term while ensuring day-to-day services remain reliable, secure and responsive.
You are comfortable working with executive stakeholders, managing competing priorities, and leading teams through change. Your background includes managing enterprise IT environments, overseeing budgets and vendors, and delivering technology initiatives that improve service delivery and organisational performance.
Experience working within government or highly regulated environments will be well regarded, as will your ability to navigate governance, compliance and risk frameworks with confidence.

Why Join the City of Joondalup
This is an opportunity to lead technology for one of Western Australia's largest local governments, with genuine scope to influence strategy, capability and service delivery outcomes.
The City offers a supportive, values-driven environment, a strong focus on community outcomes, and the opportunity to work with an engaged and collaborative executive team. A competitive remuneration package is available, reflecting the seniority and impact of the role.

  • Your experience leading an IT function and aligning technology strategy with organisational and governance objectives
  • An example of how you have delivered reliable IT services while managing competing stakeholder needs
