This is an opportunity for an experienced IT Technician to support site-based technology, communications and infrastructure across remote mining operations. You’ll work closely with operational teams, vendors and leadership to ensure reliable, secure and efficient IT systems in a dynamic, production-focused environment.

What you’ll be doing day-to-day:
- Troubleshoot and resolve site-related IT, communications and network issues
- Deploy and maintain IT infrastructure including hardware, networking equipment, communications devices and remote access systems
- Conduct routine inspections of IT infrastructure to ensure reliability and compliance
- Assist with physical installations (cabling, AV equipment, radio base stations, mounting equipment)
- Perform disaster recovery (DR) drills and test redundancy systems
- Manage user access provisioning (Active Directory, VPN, door access systems)
- Maintain and update networking and communications devices
- Monitor network performance and respond to alerts
- Maintain asset tracking systems and documentation
- Supervise third-party IT and communications contractors on site
- Support printers, plotters and multi-function devices
- Assist with onboarding of new users including device allocation and setup
- Monitor and manage security-flagged emails
- Contribute to scope of works (SoW) for site-based IT projects and upgrades
- Build strong vendor relationships to ensure appropriate external support
Essential:
- Tertiary qualification in IT/ITC (or equivalent experience)
- Manual Driver’s Licence
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar IT support or infrastructure role
- Experience with virtual environments (VMware or Hyper-V)
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (VLANs, subnetting, DHCP)
- Experience with NAS/SAN solutions
- Knowledge of communications cabling standards
- Experience supporting users in remote environments
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently
- Comfortable working hands-on with tools in a safety-focused environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Mine site or remote site experience
- Exposure to Azure administration
- Cisco or Ubiquiti networking equipment
- VPN and firewall configuration
- CCTV and AV systems
- Radio communications and operational technology exposure
- Experience supporting fleet management systems, SCADA or telemetry
- Understanding of cyber security principles
- Exposure to mining software such as Deswick, Surpac or Micromine
- Previous ERP system experience (e.g. Pronto)
