The Opportunity
You’ll play a pivotal role translating complex operational needs into clear, actionable technology solutions. This isn’t a generic BA role, we’re looking for someone who understands rail environments and can confidently engage with frontline teams, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver fit-for-purpose outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with rail operations and control system stakeholders to understand business needs
- Gather, document, and validate detailed business and functional requirements
- Analyse current-state processes and identify improvement opportunities
- Develop clear business cases to support project initiatives and investment decisions
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions across technical and operational teams
- Act as the bridge between business and technology teams to ensure successful delivery
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst in rail or heavy industry environments
- Strong understanding of rail control systems / operations (highly desirable)
- Demonstrated ability to partner with operational teams and build credibility on the ground
- Excellent requirements gathering, process mapping, and documentation skills
- Experience developing business cases and supporting investment decisions
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels
