Support Engineer 

We’re looking for a fun, easy-going person with a genuine passion for IT to join the technical team at a global ASX and LSE listed mining company as a Support Engineer at their headquarters in the Perth CBD. They’re in need of someone who is comfortable performing level 1 help desk support and being the first point of contact for both the corporate and site based teams.

The Company:

Our client has been a big player in the gold mining industry for more than 30 years now, having explored, developed and operated 10 mines, producing hundreds of tonnes of gold. After opening their doors in Perth and setting up home in the CBD, they have since opened up a European office and are now looking at expanding their mine sites beyond Africa.

The Position:

They’re looking for a full-time corporate ICT administrator with excellent communication skills, who can drive outstanding customer service and provide IT services to demanding internal customers and external service providers. You’ll need to be personable and able to apply a data driven and risk management approach to decision making. You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in projects and system enhancements.

• Permanent full-time position with a base salary of $80,000, plus super and all equipment is provided

• Having a solid understanding of networking and security will go a long way

To be successful in this role, you will need to have to the following:

• Vocational Diploma or Certificate from a 2 year technical course

• Experience with Window Server, VMware, Office 365, SCCM and Active Directory

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Knowledge of the mining industry

• ITIL certification/understanding of ITIL framework and ICT service management best practices (not essential)

• Formal security or network certification (not essential)

The Location:

The office is located in the heart of Perth CBD, only about a 5 minute walk to Elizabeth Quay. There are also a lot of gyms nearby making it easier to workout at lunch and shorten your day.
