Role Summary: Solution Architect
Position Overview: The Solution Architect leads the design and development of IT solutions that align with the organisation's strategic goals. This role involves technical leadership, business improvement, operational effectiveness, and service delivery to ensure that solutions meet business needs and adhere to architectural standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Management and Leadership:
- Provide technical advice to support the organisation’s technology strategies.
- Liaise with relevant divisions to integrate application issues into strategic planning.
- Define a technology roadmap for systems and services.
- Offer design advice on current and proposed technologies.
Business Improvement:
- Evaluate and recommend new IT technologies and methodologies.
- Translate business and technical requirements into architectural blueprints.
- Collaborate with product owners and managers to support future business needs.
- Research technology trends and recommend improvements for systems.
Operational Effectiveness:
- Create architectural designs for products, services, projects, and systems.
- Maintain IT procedures and standards.
- Support application architects to align projects with enterprise architecture.
- Ensure solutions architecture compliance and governance.
Service Delivery:
- Provide standard definitions, reference models, and architecture designs.
- Support a community of practice to align development teams with enterprise architecture.
- Define principles, guidelines, and standards for solution alignment.
- Monitor and address deficiencies in the current solution portfolio.
Other Duties:
- Represent the branch in meetings.
- Undertake additional duties as directed by management.
Core Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Experience with diverse technologies and IT solution design standards.
- Ability to work with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Special Requirements:
- Medical clearance and current National Police Clearance certificate.
