Senior Security Technician

Our client is an industry leader in Australia & the APAC Region, known for designing, engineering, commissioning, installing and maintaining complex purpose-built solutions across electronic security, surveillance and threat detection. They focus purely in the commercial space, servicing mostly the Defence, Oil & Gas, Aviation, Renewable Energy and Infrastructure sectors.
The job on offer:
They’re on the hunt for a Senior Electronics Specialist / Senior Security Technician to join their Projects & Engineering Team on a permanent full-time basis.
There will be a mix of onshore and offshore away work, and a fair amount of travel involved with no set FIFO roster – you could be away for up to 2-3 weeks at a time depending on projects. When in Perth, you’ll be working out of their north of the river office with parking onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Workshop based activities like equipment assembly & wiring, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and inhouse service repairs
- Office based activities like remote site support and assisting engineering with designs & engineering
- Onsite activities (onshore & offshore) such as –
- Installation, commissioning and maintenance of equipment & associated system software
- Minor cabling works
- Fault finding, assessments, reporting & routine preventative maintenance
- System Integration Testing (SIT) & Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
Salary package:
Negotiable base rate + 11.5% super + OT rates + allowances + car allowance etc.
The total package can range anywhere between $130-180k per annum depending on experience
What you’ll need to be successful in this role:
- Tertiary qualification in electrical, electronics or telecommunications
- Cablers Licence
- Understanding of networks and associated equipment
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in trade
- Previous Oil & Gas or Mine Site experience
- Western Australian Police Clearance
- Western Australian Security Licence
- Tertiary qualification such as diploma or degree in engineering – desired, but not essential
- Previous experience working with Gallagher Security Systems – desired, but not essential
- Previous experience working with Synectics Security & Surveillance Products – desired, but not essential
- Proficient with AutoCAD software – desired, but not essential
- Understanding of Cybersecurity frameworks and general knowledge on requirements – desired, but not essential
