Join the Technology Division at a global Tier 1 Mining & Energy organisation, supporting their bespoke Autonomous Mining Systems technology. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the uptime, reliability, and performance of mission-critical applications that drive autonomous operations.
Work closely with the Products team in Perth and Operations teams on site, acting as the first point of contact for application support, rollouts, updates, and maintenance. This is a 12-month contract with strong potential for extension.

Initial training based in Perth CBD, followed by on-site shadowing with the current team

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Ensure system uptime and stability on-site, restore services, manage incident communications with affected users, and coordinate service restoration efforts where additional support is required.

Act as the primary on-site contact for software users, on-site technicians, and the product development team.

Deploy, configure, and maintain the FMS (Fleet Management System) application and supporting services.

Configure alerts, monitoring, and logging to ensure smooth system operation.

Proactively monitor and respond to system alerts, troubleshoot, and escalate as needed.

Perform routine Linux system administration tasks (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).

Provide L1 and L2 technical support for all technical inquiries and application support issues.

Support integration of autonomous vehicle systems, sensor networks, and industrial control systems.

Assist with patching, updates, and security hardening for both IT and OT environments.

Document system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and operational procedures.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- MUST HAVE full Australian working rights and be based in WA – no visa sponsorship or relocation assistance offered.

Tertiary or Higher Education qualification in IT, Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, or a related field.

Proven experience in L1/L2 IT support, preferably in industrial, mining, or OT environments.

Strong hands-on experience with:

Linux system administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)

Scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell)

Containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

Virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V)

Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls)

Monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk)

.NET application support (desirable)

Experience supporting mission-critical systems in high-availability environments.

Familiarity with industrial protocols (Modbus, OPC UA) or SCADA systems is highly desirable.

Ability to work independently in remote locations and adapt to changing operational demands.

Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
